MARIA THOMAS, INTERN

Maria received her undergraduate degree at North Georgia College and State University with a major in psychology and a minor in Spanish.  Her previous career includes working at Laurelwood Hospital and Avita Community Partners, which inspired her to pursue her degree in the psychology profession. She is now in the process of earning her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University.

Maria utilizes a collaborative and individualized approach to therapy as she aims to create a space where every individual feels understood.  Maria’s areas of focus include working with the Hispanic community, children, adolescents, women, couples and families. She offers sessions in Spanish and English based on your preference.

Maria lives in the Atlanta area with her two children. She enjoys spending time with her kids, family, and friends. Some of her favorite activities include going for walks while listening to music, trying out new recipes, and having movie nights at home.

Maria is under the supervision of Jennifer Wilmoth, LMFT, AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She is a student member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and a member of National Honor Association Phi Sigma PI.
