DR. WENDY WILSON - INTERN

Wendy is earning her Master of Family Therapy at the Mercer University School of Medicine. She also received her Master of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and her Ph.D. in Human Services with a specialization in Social & Community Services from Capella University. ​Before joining the Thrive Forward Therapy team, Wendy built an eclectic 20-year career in the human services field spanning the military and civilian sectors in the United States and Europe, alongside her extensive experience as a homeschool educator and military spouse. ​

 

Wendy uses a collaborative, strength-based, and client-centered approach to therapy that focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment to help clients build security in vital relationships and overcome barriers toward healing and balance. ​ She uses integrated theoretical approaches including Bowen family systems therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help clients find a renewed sense of self and healing. She works with individuals, couples, families, life-cycle transitions, and the military community. ​ 

 

Wendy lives in the Atlanta area with her husband, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and two children, one in college and one in high school. She enjoys traveling, experiencing new cuisines, performing arts, long walks, spending time with family, and volunteering. She is a student member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. ​ 

 

Wendy is under the supervision of Jennifer Wilmoth, LMFT, AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
